Bought two palatkas.
One vame without drawstring, one has a missing toggle which isn't bad.
Grommets are shiny and in good condition.
The canvas itself is in like-new condition as advertised.
Didn't use it yet but I'm very happy with them

I ordered one of the like-new plash palatkas, and that is what I received. If it was used, it was very lightly used. The brass grommets are almost entirely shiny, and all of the toggles and drawcords are present. This appears to be a very nice piece of kit and should be useful.

I ordered two of the 1980-era used plash palatkas, and one of them appears to be the one used in the image on the website due to the writing in one corner. That particular item is a little dirty, but all of its toggles are present. The other one is missing the toggles that would be used to fasten two of them together to make a tent or to allow it to serve as a closed poncho. Otherwise, I would give five stars. The material is heavy duty and they seem durable. The missing toggles are the only disappointing part of this purchase.

Came with rusted metal buttons and no drawstring. Heavyweight fabric and can be easily repaired. I prefer this over fiberglass tarp

I received the item in an unused condition. The palatka is heavy as expected since it's made from thick high quality canvas. It's in a beautiful olive green colour. The dark green toggles attached with a string look great on the material. For the sake of convenience, one could switch out the draw strings. However, I like mine the way they are - the jute adds a bit of a high fantasy vibe. The cape is really convenient. Can't wait to take it to a forest on a rainy day.

Good quality cotton canvas. The olive green colour is gorgeous. The plastic olive green toggles match the exact colour of the canvas. Why would anyone want to change them?
As a seamstress, I can confirm it’s a very well made garment. The two pockets are an extra bonus.
The armholes are very secure as there’s an extra protective flap of fabric inside the pockets and a toggle placed in middle of the pocket. No rain or the cold will get through this. People appear to overlook this when purchasing different varieties of plash palatka’s.
The poncho is sewn with a 100% good quality cotton thread.
3Ib weight for a poncho in my opinion, is best quality if you want this to last for many years and pass down to family members.
I’m a happy customer as I know now, I made the right choice in choosing this style, colour and quality of a military poncho.

Generally a good product. I like the idea of two slits rather than just the one in the Russian version and the two internal pockets will come in useful.
The Russian version usually has a fourth toggle up by the drawstrings which makes for easier fastening than using the drawstrings so I added another and took the opportunity to change the plastic toggles for wooden ones (I had to buy a pack of 12 so why not?)
I give it just four stars because very few of the button holes were big enough to pass a toggle through and I had to cut and re-sew the ones I needed (12!). Not a great problem and I learned how to sew a button hole!
I also replaced the four brassy grommets with hand sewn ones like you'd find on an old fashioned canvas sail - another skill learned!

The Romanian Army's version of the Palatka seems very heavy, made of thick canvas, has good windproof and waterproof qualities(waterproof tested in the shover)and the design which presents two holes (instead of only one )for the forearms are really practical. All the Seams were checked no need to reinforce, they are very sturdy and the wooden buttons in very good condition too. It smells a little bit musty but personally i like those vintage "scent".

This is your standard poncho/tarp but made in very resistant green canvas..... you can use it for pretty much anything ! slap it on your backpack and use it for a survival tent , poncho or even a tarp for a picnic. a must have .... (its kinda like the plash palatka but this one has two arm holes)
